Let us have a general review of nickel in Japan on domestic production, imports and exports for the first half ( January - June ) of 2004. In this period, Japan produced <> 15,184 tons of nickel metal ( compared with 17,286 tons in the same period of 2003 ), <> 38,611 tons of nickel in ferro-nickel ( 37,730 tons in 2003 ), <> 30,500 tons ( estimated ) of nickel in nickel oxide ( 25,250 tons in 2003 ) and <> totaled to 84,295 tons of nickel, which increased by 5.0 percent compared to that ( 80,266 tons ) in the same period of 2003.
