Panorama On Supply And Demand Of Nickel Products In Japan For First Half 2006

Let us trace a panorama on supply and demand of nickel products in Japan for the first half (January - June) of 2006. A spotlight is put on the orbits of domestic production, imports and exports of nickel products in the first half of 2006. Namely, the quantities (on nickel-content base) of nickel products produced in Japan for the first half of 2006 were nickel metal : 15,476 tons (compared with 16,944 tons in the same period of 2005) and ferro-nickel : 36,719 tons (compared to 39,830 tons in the same period of 2005). Accordingly, both quantities of nickel metal and ferro-nickel produced in Japan for the first half of 2006 had decreased by 2.8 percent for nickel metal and by 7.8 percent for ferro-nickel in comparison with those for the same period of 2005. The detailed contents of nickel products in Japan for the first half of 2006 were as per the table attached hereto.
