The output of ferro-nickel in Japan for the first half (January - June) of 2006 had a decline. The three companies in Japan (Pacific Metals, Sumitomo Metal Mining and Nippon Yakin Kogyo) produced 36,719 tons of ferro-nickel in the first half of 2006, which consisted of 18,405 tons in January - March quarter and 18,314 tons in April - June quarter and decreased by 7.8 percent compared with that (39,830 tons) in the same period of 2005.
