A certain integrated steel company in Japan is expected to opt out of a HR coil export deal with Taiwan's tinplate manufacturer Ton Yi Industrial Corp for shipments in the April-June quarter of 2006, according to Japanese steel industry sources. Main factors are viewed as pricing difficulties and Ton Yi's ample stock of HR coils for TMBP. Japanese integrated steelmakers usually settle export deals of TMBP grade HR coils with Ton Yi on the condition that a negotiated price is higher by 20 US dollars/ton than what the Japanese steelmakers apply in their HR coil exports to South Korea.
