Chinese Government Raises Tax On Exports Of Ferro-Alloys To 10 percent From November

The Central Government of China (Ministry of Finance) announced on the 27th of October that the tax (temporary) imposed on exports of ferro-alloys from China is uniformly revised to 10 percent and this new export tax is enforced from the 1st November of 2006. The contents of this revision are (1) the tax imposed on exports of four Chinese ferro-alloys, consisting of ferro-manganese, silico-manganese, ferro-silicon and ferro-chrome, was so far 5 percent but is raised to 10 percent and (2) the tax on exports of such Chinese ferro-alloys as ferro-molybdenum, ferro-nickel, ferro-tungsten, ferroniobium, ferro-titanium and so on was so far nil but is uniformly imposed by 10 percent from November.
