School of Mines gets computer software, hardware

WHEN Lonrho Mining Zimbabwe were negotiating the purchase of software for resource estimation and mine planning and design, the suppliers offered a complete set of the software and a Unix workstation to the Zimbabwe School of Mines in Bulawayo so that the future generation of mining officials would become competent in modern methods while undergoing initial training. The offer has been taken up and mining software company Maptek has ensured the Zimbabwe School of Mines is equipped to train mining professionals for the next century and beyond with the donation of its Vulcan software system.
