U.S. Box shipments fell 13 percent between 2007 and 2009, the steepest declines for this market since the 1970s, Ken Waghorne, vice president, RISI, observed during his presentation on the current North American containerboard market at RISI's 14th International Containerboard Conference in Chicago.
