Making Sure the EU Paediatric Regulation Does its Job

The Paediatric Regulation (Regulation (EC) No 1902/2006) was proposed by the European Commission to promote high-quality research into the development of medicines for children and to increase the availability of drugs designed with paediatric use in mind. The European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations warmly welcomed the proposal; it was adopted in mid-2006 and it came into force across all 27 European Union member states in January 2007.
