摘要

The objective of this investigation is to study the vortex-induced vibrations (VIV) of submarine free-span pipelines. The uniform flow past a free span is simulated by using a standard k-ε model in conjunction with finite volume method and SIMPLE algorithm. The structural motion equation is discretized by Hermite interpolation functions and Galerkin method. In numerical examples, analyses of turbulent wakes, structural responses, induced forces and effects of the gap ratio on them are carried out respectively. Lock-in phenomenon is also discussed in detail. The results, compared with the experimental data partially, show that the present method is efficient to study the VIV problem of submarine free-span pipelines.
