The first three minutes after the creation of the universe encompass some of the most bizarre and conceptually challenging ideas in all of physics and astronomy. It is during this brief yet oh-so-important period following the big bang where the fundamental forces separate, atomic nuclei first form, and the tiniest of temperature variations foretell the formation and distribution of stars and galaxies. An exciting time interval indeed.
