Studies have shown that students who learn physics through video analysis projects show better data interpretation skills and deeper understanding on certain topics.~1,2 To help introductory physics students understand the coefficient of restitution (COR) and projectile motion, we video recorded the flight of a bouncing ball. By using video analysis, we can determine both the heights of the ball bounces and time-of-flights between bounces. The measurements were performed using the motion-tracking routine in the Logger Pro software (version 3.8.2).
