Motional Mechanisms ofHomopolar Motors Rollers

The strong Nd_2Fe_(14)4B permanent magnet has facilitated development of various fascinating yet simple homopolar motors~(1-6)and rollers.~(6-9)However, the physics of these devices is often not ex-plained, or is explained incorrectly. A major concernis that Newton's third law was overlooked in some ofthe earlier articles. ~(4,6-8)In this paper, I will employ thislaw in explaining the motional mechanisms of thesedevices.
