Randomized Controlled Trials-the Problem of Clinical Trials in Veterinary Science

All papers presented for publication in The Veterinary Journal are submitted to a number of referees familiar with the subject to judge their merit. Sometimes, subject referees are unable to comment on the statistical methods used by the authors and in such instances additional advice may have to be sought and a separate assessment conducted. The statistics referee is invited to advise whether the study design was appropriate to achieve the stated objectives and whether the data were analysed correctly and presented in an accurate and reliable manner.
