Bilateral upward patellar fixation in two pregnant beef heifers

UPWARD fixation of the patella in cattle was first reported in the United Kingdom in 1960 (Vaughan 1960) and few cases have been reported since. In India the condition has great economic significance and is commonly encountered in indigenous Brahman cattle (Tyagi and Singh 1993). This report discusses two cases of bilateral upward patellar fixation which occurred simultaneously in a group of seven heifers.
