The cosmetics industry may find itself increasingly targeted by litigators looking to capitalize on California's Proposition 65 law, according to Angela Diesch, an attorney who represents consumer-products firms for Sacramento, Calif.-based law firm Greenberg Traurig. Presenting on litigation trends in the cosmetics sector at the Sustainable Cosmetics Summit in New York May 17, Diesch noted that Prop 65 suits tend to hit industries in waves, and there are indications that beauty may be in the path of one such swell.
