Despite "breakthrough" launches and strong sales of its namesake color cosmetics line, Revlon's U.S. sales in the second quarter were dragged down by lower sales of Almay color cosmetics, Revlon beauty tools and Mitchum underarm products, the company reported during a July 29 earnings call. U.S. sales declined 3.7 percent to $179.3 million during the period, which ended June 30.
