The role of pharmacists in primary care groups: a strategic approach

Introducing the conference, Mr PETER CURPHEY (immediate past President of the Society) said that pharmacy was now promoting its value to primary care groups and, to support this activity, there was a need to develop a network between pharmaceutical advisers, those involved inprescribing support and the 12,000 or so pharmacies inthe community. Team building was vital, he added, and there has to be a clear understanding of where pharmacy fitted into the new structures.
