China has twenty one ethylene production units today. The biggest unit is the 1. 0 million t/a unit which started production in Sinopec Maoming Petrochemical Company Ltd. in September 2006. The smallest is only 140 000 t/a. Technologies in use have mainly been imported from abroad.
