Rosacea occurs les frequently than acne and less is also known about its aetiology. The condition typically present in patients between the ages of 30 and 40 years, but it can present in a younger or older age group. The patient complains of either flushing ofthe face or acne-like spots, particularly i the form of red papules or pustules. Not infrequently, the two features - telangiectatic flushing and acneform eruption - can occur in the same patient. Females are more likely to develop the disease than males, and he disease is more common in auburn-haired individuals, especially of Celtic origin.
