Means limiting the expression of the gene encoding histamine receptor H2 and/or an antagonist of histamine receptor H2 for the treatment of e.g. rosacea, erythematotelangiectatic rosacea and papulopustular rosacea (subtype II)
Means limiting the expression of the gene encoding histamine receptor H2 (HRH-2) and/or an antagonist of the HRH-2 for the treatment of rosacea, is claimed. Independent claims are included for: (1) a pharmaceutical composition comprising, in a medium, at least one means limiting the expression of the gene encoding the HRH-2 and/or the antagonist of the HRH-2; (2) an in vitro method for diagnosis of rosacea in a subject likely to be achieved, comprising: (a) evaluation of expression levels or activity rate of HRH-2, in a biological sample previously collected from a patient with rosacea, (b) comparison of the level of expression or the rate of HRH-2 activity, measured in the step (a) with respect to the same rate measured in a healthy subject, (c) evaluation of expression levels or HRH-2 activity rate in a biological sample previously taken from the subject suffering from rosacea, and (d) comparing the level of expression or rate of HRH receptor-2 activity, measured in the step (c) with respect to the same rate measured in the step (a) and in a healthy subject; (3) an in vitro method for monitoring the development of rosacea in a patient with rosacea, comprising (i) evaluation of the expression rate or rate of HRH-2 activity in the biological sample previously taken from the subject with rosacea, at a given time t1; (ii) at a given time t2, after time t1 of the first step, evaluation of the level of expression or activity rate of HRH-2 in a second biological sample previously taken from the patient with rosacea; (iii) comparing the level of expression or activity rates of HRH-2, measured in the first step with respect to the same rate measured at the step (ii); and (4) a kit for diagnosis or monitoring the development of rosacea, comprising at least one means of measuring the expression or activity of HRH-2 in the skin cells of a subject.
