The most common therapeutic intervention carried out in the NHS is the use of medicines and at least 20 per cent of primary care trust funds are spent on purchasing medicines and medicines services.It is not surprising,therefore,that PCTs need to make sure that this money is being spent wisely and to plan their budgets carefully.
