Lay members in protest as Council elects new Officers

One of the three Privy Council nominees on the Royal Pharmaceutical Society's Council has resigned and the others have threatened to resign following a decision at the June Council meeting not to give Gill Hawksworth a second term of office as President.Although the Officers for 2003-04 were all willing to serve again,the Council elected Nicholas Wood to succeed Dr Hawksworth as President,Hemant Patel to replace Alison Ewing as Vice-President and John Jolley to succeed Linda Stone as Treasurer.Dr Hawksworth remains an Officer of the Society as its immediate past president.
