Disease Management: Be Timely, Be Prepared

An oft-repeated adage of peanut production is, "If it's perfect peanut-growing weather, it's also perfect disease-growing weather." It's a frustrating fact of life, but growers need not worry - with strong fungicides on the market, such as Folicur, problems such as white mold, leaf spot and other damaging diseases can be controlled. However, growers must also arm themselves with smart management practices and follow a timely fungicide program. Following those steps can put them well on the road to profit, says Bob Ke-merait, University of Georgia Extension plant pathologist.
