Be ready when fungus calls

Southeatern peanut growers had lots of learning opportunities last year when conditions favored earlier-than-usual outbreaks of white mold. Disappointing control was reported by many grower who relied on calendar schedules to time applications of fungicides. In fieds where farmers or field scouts spotted the early sighs of white mold, some growers were able to spray earlier than usual and obtain better disease control.
