EVERYTHING IN TRANSITION

Fall is right around the corner. If you dig accuracy and astronomy, you probably know that the autumnal equinox occurs at 5:18 p.m. on Sept. 22 this year. I'm not an amateur astronomer but I have paid attention to the solstices and equinoxes, especially since 1992. One of the young men in the Lundin household was born on the autumnal equinox that year. Of course, the end of summer means a new school year. This one is special because the elder Lundin child entered his senior year of high school while the younger started his freshman year. It wasn't all that long ago that they were attending the same grade school together; now it won't be long until the oldest one is off to college. So September is a transitional month and 2009 is a transitional year for the Lundins.
