LMC Inc., DeKalb, Ill., has been named a winner of R&D - Research & Development Magazine's R&D 100 Award for 2001. The company won the honor for its engineering, designing, and manufacturing work with the adiabatic metal forming process and press systems. The process produces blanks from a variety of metal types, forming them into net- or near-net-shaped parts. The forming process requires less than a millisecond.
