Teaching the phases of the moon in a digital planetarium

In 2001, the Quebec Ministry of Education adopted a new educational progfam for its elementary and secondary schools that sets goals for astronomy content. Among the required subjects teachers must explore with their students are such phenomena as diurnal motion seasons and lunar phases. This requirement is difficult for teachers, who often lack basic knowledge of astronomy.
