Many departments are facing theprospect of a merger with anotherdepartment. Therefore, APS approachedACDP to conduct a short survey to gaina perspective on how many departmentshave gone through a merger, what theissues were that they had to deal withduring and after the merger, andwhether it was seen as a beneficial ordetrimental move. A survey consisting of five questionswas emailed to all ACDP members. Atotal of 84 out of 186 chairs responded,yielding a very high response rate of 45%.
