Here in America, I recently had the opportunity to read the Good Practice Guidelines on the Use of Psychological Formulation issued by the Division of Clinical Psychology (2011). Section 4 of these guidelines provides a historical context that identifies 'Influential clinicians such as Hans Eysenck, Victor Meyer, Monte Shapiro and Ira Turkat…, (p.4) who helped to shape the development of psychological formulation of presenting phenomena. As the only living 'influential clinician' identified, I would like to take this opportunity to share my reactions.
