Both production and sales of wrought copper alloy are topping the previous year's levels thanks to brisk exports despite sluggish domestic sales. According to a recent survey on the production and sales of wrought copper alloy including sheets, bars, pipes and wires from January through September, most items excluding wires exceeded the year-earlier period's records. Affected by anemic demand, domestic sales of copper pipes and bars hovered slightly below the preceding year's levels, but sheets and wires were higher than a year ago in their local sales. Analysts said that growing output in such consuming sectors as automobile, semiconductor and electronic goods raised the sales of those items despite an overall slump in domestic economy.
