Imports of Chinese Plates Sharply Increase in First Quarter

Korea's imports of plates from China sharply increased in March compared with a month ago. The nation's monthly imports of plates for March totaled 382,430 tons, up 34 percent from a month ago and a rise of 5 percent from a year earlier. Of them, imports of Chinese plates posted 192,267 tons, up 28 percent from 150,408 tons in the previous month and a surge of 16 percent from the identical month of 2006.
