POSCO Posts Record Business Performance for 1st Quarter

POSCO achieved the highest-ever first-quarter business performance thank to growth both in exports and production in the wake of a recovery in overseas steel markets including China. POSCO held an investor relation conference April 11 at the Korea Stock Exchange building and made a presentation on its first-quarter business performance, announcing that it posted 3.26 trillion won in sales with operating income amounting to 773.8 billion won and net profit 468.7 billion won by producing 6.9 million tons of crude steel, 6.59 million tons of steel products and selling 6.81 million tons of them, despite furnace repair works at its Steel Making Plant I (50 days) and II (45days) at Pohang Works in the first quarter.
