Korea's Economy Expected to Grow 4.9 percent This Year and 4.3 percent Next Year: KIET

The state-run Korea Institute for Industrial Economics & Trade (KIET) predicted Korea's economy will grow 4.3 percent next year, slower than the estimated rise of 4.9 percent for this year. With the implementation of the government's comprehensive investment plans to stimulate the national economy, however, consumer sentiment is expected to get slightly better next year in accordance with a recovery in domestic consumption and investments. Together with it, the contribution of net exports to the national economic growth is foreseen to decline to a large extent next year, while that of domestic consumption will relatively grow.
