POSCO completed the No.1 Steel Plate Plant with an annual production capacity of 700,000 tons on July 4, 1972, the No.2 Steel Plate Plant with an annual production capacity of 3 million tons in February 1978, the No.3 Steel Plate Plant with an annual production capacity of 1.3 million tons in September 1997 at its Gwangyang Works and Pohang Steel Plate Plant with annual production capacity of 2 million tons in March last year, thus lifting its entire annual steel plate production capacity to 7 million tons.
