H-Beam Sales and Production Post Record Highs in 2002

Sales and production of domestic H-beams respectively topped three million tons last year, hitting record highs. The yearly production of H-beams posted 3,044,672 tons last year, up 20.9 percent from 2,502,743 tons in 2001 together with a year-on-year surge of 22.3 percent in the annual sales to 3,061,841 tons from 2,502,743 tons thanks to brisk construction activity. In particular, domestic sales shot up 32.5 percent year-on-year to 2,225,396 tons, leading the growth in overall sales of H-beams.
