NSAID and oesophageal adenocarcinoma: randomised trials needed to correct for bias

We read with interest the Article by Vaughan and colleagues,1 regarding the role of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAID) and risk of neoplastic progression in Barrett's oesophagus. However, as the authors note, this study was observational, which means that data are needed from randomised trials. Although we agree with their conclusions, we think that some inherent biases in their study need to be highlighted.
