Regulation of circadian rhythms and hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis: an overlooked interaction in cancer.

An interesting Personal View in The Lancet Oncology by Katrina Ondicova and Boris Mravec emphasised bidirectional interactions between peripheral tumour cells and the CNS and autonomic nervous systems. Here, we provide a complementary viewpoint to highlight other important cancer-relevant CNS functions such as the regulation of circadian rhythms and the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenalaxis.
