Was the HIV infection burden in female sex workers in China overestimated? - Authors' reply

We thank Xiang-Sheng Chen and colleagues for their letter about the pooled prevalence of HIV in female sex workers in China that we presented in our systematic review and meta-analysis of this subject. Our meta-analysis included 11 studies undertaken in China, representing 567 female sex workers with HIV of 18773 sampled, with a pooled prevalence of 3.0% (95% Cl 2.8-3.3) compared with an estimated prevalence of 0.06% in all women of reproductive age in China.
