Improving disability in stroke with RTMS

Stroke is the leading cause of long-term disability worldwide. Recovery of function after stroke occurs largely on the basis of a maintained capacity of the adult brain for plastic change. Various concepts of how to enhance beneficial plasticity and in turn improve recovery of function are emerging,1 but controlled clinical trials based on these concepts are still in their infancy.
