Shortages and Strategies: ANAC's Role in the Development of the National HIV/AIDS Strategy

June marked the 30th anniversary of the HIV epidemic in the United States and the 1-year anniversary of the launch of the first-ever U.S. National HIV/AIDS Strategy (NHAS; Office of National AIDS Policy [ONAP], 2010). The Association of Nurses in AIDS Care (ANAC) has taken an active role in advocating for nurses and nursing in the context of the development and implementation of the NHAS and is publishing a series of commentaries in JANAC documenting our efforts. This initial commentary is designed to provide an overview of ANAC's involvement in and work related to the NHAS.
