摘要

Trigonella foenum-graecum L, plants were grown on alluvial soil (sandy loam), exposed to various Ni concentrations viz, 0,0.01,0.5,5 and 50 ppm under glass house conditions. Supply of excess Ni (50 ppm) for 30 days produced chlorosis in young leaves,which subsequently turned necrotic. Low supply of Ni (0.01, 0.5 ppm) increased growth (shoot length and dry matter yield), nodulation and pod weight. Tissues concentration of Ni in shoot (25.78 mug g~(-1) dw) and root (190,3 mug g~(-1) dw) was observed at 50 ppm Ni supply. The accumulation of Ni was increased, both in root and shoot, with increase in Ni concentrations. The tolerance in Trigonella with respect to physiological attributes (chlorophyll a, b and catalase activity) were increased with increase in concentration of Ni upto 5ppm, whereas, these parameters were decreased with further increase in Ni concentration (50 ppm).
