Greeting cards: a technique for communicating health messages.

Social health refers to the quality and breadth of relationships individuals establish and develop with others. Interpersonal skills represent the hallmark of social health and are thus acknowledged in the National Health Education Standards (NHES). Specifically, the NHES indicate that "Students will demonstrate the ability to use interpersonal communication skills to enhance health and avoid or reduce health risks.~("3(p8) )Interpersonal skills invariably give rise to health communication by cultivating healthy interactions with others and promoting health among individuals, families, and communities. The overarching purpose of this teaching technique is to introduce students to basic fundamentals and strategies of health communication.
