Challenging the fundamental assumptions of modern beekeeping, such as artificial queen breeding, the creation of nuclei and systematic swarm prevention, Beekeepers working in the context of Biodynamics orientate themselves towards meeting the naturalrequirements of the colony. Management is structured so that the bee is freely able to unfold its true nature which includes allowing colonies to build natural honeycomb. Beekeeper intervention is based on the requirement of the bee colonyand not on maximising honey yield. Since healthy populous colonies also return respectable amounts of honey, such an approach to beekeeping is also economically viable.
