Grey Relation between Blood Pressure, BMI as well as Age and Ventricular Rate in Hypertensive Patients with Persistent Atrial Fibrillation

To analyze the grey relation between blood pressure, body mass index (BMI) as well as age and ventricular rate (VR) in hypertensive patients with persistent atrial fibrillation (PAF), the data were derived from 94 hospitalized hypertensive patients with PAF from January 2007 to December 2007, whose systolic blood pressure (SBP) was greater than 140mmHg and/or diastolic blood pressure (DBP) greater than 90mmHg. Grey relational analysis was employed to analyze the data. Antihypertensive drugs discontinued for at least 2 weeks in those therapeutic patients. The values of grey relational grade of VR to age, BMI, SBP and DBP were as follows: 0.6867, 0.6978, 0.7158 and 0.7096, thus the grey relational order was SBP >- DBP >- BMI >- age. Compared with age and BMI, blood pressure, especially SBP is more important for VR in hypertensive patients with PAF.
