ISMS strategy a winner for water retailer

YARRA VALLEY WATER, Victoria's largest retail water company, has won Awards for 'Best Implementation of Risk Strategy' and 'Best Information Technology Security Strategy' at the Australian Risk Management Awards 2004. The Awards come hard on the heels of Yarra Valley Water becoming the first Australian utility to be certified to the AS/NZS 7799 Standard for Information Security Management Systems (ISMS). According to Brahman Thiyagalingham, SAI Global ISMS Program Manager: "Yarra Valley Water has not only met the technical requirements of AS/NZS 7799 but has truly embraced the spirit of the ISMS Standard." The ISMS certification is only the latest in a series for Yarra Valley Water, an organisation which is proud of its certified integrated management systems, which span quality, environmental, occupational health and safety and HACCP.
