REPRODUCTIVE PERFORMANCE OF ASSAM LOCAL GOATS AND THEIR CROSSES WITH BEETAL

摘要

The indigenous goats of Assam are popularly known as Assam Local. These animals are valued for their skin quality and are well adopted to the prevailing high humid environment of the region. They are non-descript , and considered to be relatively poorer in milk and meat production than the recognised Indian breeds. The present investigation reports the results of a study on Assam Local (AL) goats and their crosses with Beetal (B) in regard to reproductive traits.
