Pulmonary adenomatosis in sheep - A case report

Pulmonay adenomatosis or jaagsiekte is a highly transmissible, retroviral induced neoplasia of the ovine lung which occurs in many countries. Since its first report in India (Damodaran, 1960) several incidences were reported from all over the country (Banerjee and Gupta, 1979; Sarkar et al., 1988; Dadhich and Sharma, 1995). Sastry et al. (1965) studied three cases of ovine pulmonary adenomatosis in indigenous sheep of Andhra Pradesh. In this communication, a case of Jaagsiekte in Nellore sheep is reported.
