Efficacy of Fenbendazole Feed Supplement for Bovines

In Deoni cow and heifer groups overall GI parasitic infestation was 30.00 and 47.50 per cent with 1816±78 and 1444±66 EPG on day 0 which was reduced after giving fenbendazole feed suppliant (FFS) indicating 83.34 and 77.78 per cent efficacy on day 5th respectively which was zero on day 3rd. In Mararthwadi buffaloes and heifers, infestation was 38.33 and 36.66 per cent with 735±61 & 845±52 EPG showing 90.91 & 84.62 per cent efficacy respectively on 5th day. The efficacy was 100 per cent on day 10th and 20th in all four treatment groups. The control groups showed no difference in EPG on all days of trial. The average milk yield was increased by 11.76 per cent in treated cows and by 12.51 per cent in buffaloes. Oestrous was observed 8 and 10 monthsearlier with continuation of cyclicity in 60.00 and 50.00 per cent cow heifers and buffalo heifers respectively.
