The requirements of polytunnels for protected soft fruit production

Field-scale polythene tunnels first appeared in the British countryside in the early 1990s and since then they have become the standard system for soft fruit production. Alongside this, other sectors, such as salad production, have also increasingly adopted protected cropping, particularly for speciality lines such as baby leaves.
