Mechanical pruning and blossom thinning practices

Two years of experience using both the Darwin blossom thinner and pruning blades have been valuable in mastering the techniques necessary to gain the necessary payback from the fruit wall orchard system. Brian Tompsett, recently retired from JA & NJ Bardsley, and Mark Holden, Production Director at Adrian Scripps Ltd, shared the considerable experience gained in the timing and application of these two machines with BEST Fruit Discussion Group members.
